Obituary of Monica Navarro

Monica Navarro, loving wife of Rowland Navarro, Mother of Ayana Navarro, Sister of Auldwin Richardson, Sister to Allison Richardson, Grandmother of Lewis Orion Lowden, Mother-in-Law of Matthew Lowden.

Monica was born in Trinidad & Tobago but spent the major portion of her life in Canada.

Monica loved working and helping others within the community. She was a senior member of Antilleans Sports and Cultural Club where she played a pivotal role in the planning of activities and the overall growth of the club for over 40 years. She was the main protagonist responsible for providing Scholarships for Students of West Indian Parentage graduating high school and continuing post secondary education, regardless of their country of birth.

In ensuing years she became heavily involved with Liberty Hall Deliverance Centre where she made several friends and campaigned tirelessly to raise funds for the construction of their current premise. This was evident by the numerous visits to the hospital by many of its parishioners to her hospital room where they prayed and extended solace to her family and friends. Her life touched all those with whom she became associated in an extremely positive manner.  Monica is gone but will never be forgotten. All will miss her delicacies, ie Coconut, Soursop, Guinness ice cream, cakes, Rum punch and Pumpkin Ponche De Creme which she created for her family and friends.

I have fought the good fight, I have  finished my course. I have kept the faith.  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the lord the righteous judge shall give me on the glorious day and not only to me, but also to all those that loved and obeyed him.

~2 Timothy 4-7,8
