To my one and only brother in law. (The little
Sister to Margret) You will be missed, you have always been so generous and kind. Super supportive. I was lucky as you were a fundamental part of my teens and transition to young adulthood. For a period of time I attended holiday functions with you and your family and they are some of my best memories. I often think of you today as I run my social Media business, as I feel as though, those conversations with you prepared me for tough critiques. As you always ask the hard and practical questions. Your intent was always to get me to think critically, which I was so grateful for. You were one one of the first people I knew who spoke about entrepreneurship, investing and etc. At the time I was not into math, and I remember you telling me it was fundamental especially if I wanted to make money. I was young then, and today at 30 I still reflect on everything you said and now monopolize on those things. I mean every time I get into a car I have to thank you, because of you I learned to drive. You took me out to drive in your brand new Audi, including teaching me to drive on bi ways and at the time I was not a driver. But that speaks to your character and how you were more concerned about people’s personal growth than material objects. You were that impactful.

To Margaret, Basil's mum and all the family:
My deepest condolences to you all. May the almighty power showers you with strength to heal and carry on without Basil. It's comforting to know that he is free of pain and is at peace.
At least twice a year for close to two decades, I would meet Basil at a mutual friend's (Veeda and Ray) parties. His nickname for me was ankle. Little did he know that in my mind, my nickname for him was ankle # 2!. I once mentioned to Basil that his ankle was no better than mine - skinny as hell - LOL. Who is going to call me ankle? I will miss Basil. Basil was always a cool guy and very funny and so eloquent. He always has interesting stories to tell and tell them well, he does.
Basil's life was cut way too short or perhaps it was his time to return to our creator. May his soul rest in peace and love.

To Ruthline and Margaret,
I met Basil a few years ago, although I have always known of him and his Sister, Maxine as my Cousin Ruddy and Ruthline’s children. I was moved by Basil’s charm and grace when I met him. His passing sent shock waves through our hearts. I loathe losing a family member. It was a very sad day as we learned that his uncle had passed as well. Rest in eternal peace Basil and Uncle. No more pain and fear.
To his darling mom, beloved wife, dearest sister, and all other relatives, sorry for your unimaginable and indescribable losses and grief.
Treasure the loving memories left behind and be comforted by this verse: “And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus”. Philippians 4: 7.
We love you and are here for you. Grace and peace!

Where is Basil?
That was a question asked if Margaret showed up ahead of Basil at family gatherings. We asked because we knew that the party would not be the same without him.
The energy that Basil brought to a room was unique. You knew when he spoke he would bring a unique perspective to the topic being discussed. He was witty, smart, personable and very sociable. He always made you think.
Games nights were hilarious. Everyone wanted Basil on their team. He was the “not so secret weapon”.
We miss him but will remember him with love.
So to Basil we say: au revoir et repose en paix (goodbye and rest in peace).
To his wife and family we send our love and condolences. May God comfort them with his love and peace and may the wonderful memories of basil help in the process.

From Stephen and Family:
I first met Basil in fall of 2016. Right away i found him to be a genuine and staight-talking individual. He provided good advice to me on a number of topics including general career considerations and navigating a new environment. He has been a staple at our family gatherings and i always knew once Basil was around there would be something to laugh about. He could be a joker, but Basil was no joke. He was a confident and motivated person and he could command situations very well. He was versatile and engaging and even our kids had good times relating with Basil.
I know his passing hurts all of us, especially those to whom he was closest. May the Lord strengthen his family and give them the grace to carry on. Let us cherish the memories we have and love those who remain and look forward in faith and hope.
May Basil rest in peace and may we cherish his memory.
Psalms 42:11 (KJV) Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

As I begin to look for the right words to express my thoughts about my brother, I remember the many meaningful roles that he played through-out his life.
He was a family man who loved his family deeply. He was a devoted husband, son, uncle, brother and friend. He was a defiant man, unwilling to settle for less and always striving for the best not just in himself but in others. I am so grateful that I was able to be part of his life. I’m going to miss the talks and quiet moments we had.
It’s very hard to say goodbye but know that the pages of your book will never be closed. You will be remembered by those of us still left behind and whose lives you’ve touched. Brother, I will miss you, and will always remember you. Let this message be sent to heaven above for the angels to take care of you and give you all my love.

Basil and I had a friendship that spanned over 45 years. We lived just across the street from each other while in middle school. In recent years we would occasionally meet for lunch and long walks while we caught up on our lives and the life of those I had lost contact with. He was a good and decent person since the day we met and a true friend.
I was pained when he shared with me the details of his illness and asked my advise of the the best way to cope with the side effects of his treatment. I eagerly shared and would contact him often just to give him some encouragement and to let him know he was always in my thoughts and prayers. My most recent attempt to reach out was 3 days before his passing.
I will miss our long WhatsApp conversations where we would agree to disagree on many issues.
I will forever remember Basil as we had a long historical friendship and his unfortunate passing was on the morning of my birthday.
Take your forever rest my friend.
