Obituary of Elfleda Vassell
Elfleda Isola Vassell (Aunt Mag or Miss Madge) to many, pass away on March 25 2021 at home surrounded by family. She was born on December 17, 1931 in the town of Danmali, in Parish of Hanover, to parents Hepburn Ferdinand Vassell and Daisy Stewart. Elfleda was the last of her siblings to pass on, preceding her was older brother Henley Vassell and younger sisters Sheila Vassell Clarke, Tiny Vassell and Deloris Vassell. She spend her earlier years between Danmali and Dias, Williamsfield. During which she had her first two children , daughter Norma Elaine McNab and son Frederick McNab.
In 1953 Elfleda move to Kingston, Where she join her aunt Lucille Smith and her cousin Evangeline Moore. There she had her third child Jennifer Hope McClean, then Norman Micheal McNeal was not too far behind, She then met Mr. Wilmot McCalla and together they had Lloyd Anthony McCalla, Hyacinth Ruby McCalla and Steven Earle McCalla (Veronica) ,then followed Marva Angella Anglin and her baby Sherline Antoinette Dietrich (Junior)
August of 1983 Elfleda migrated to Toronto, Canada to be with her sister Shiela her daughter Hyacinth and granddaughters, She worked at Wald’o’s restaurant for many years before retiring . She would then take time out to visit her children in the United States and Jamaica. Elfleda was baptized in 2009 at the Faith Worship Center, she was also a member of the Light and Life Ministry in Ontario Canada, where her son from another mother Henry Higgins would transport her to and from Church every Sunday.
To cherish her many wonderful memories, Elfleda leaves behind 8 children, 36 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren, along with a host of Nephews, Neices , Cousins and friends. Sleep in heavenly peace MAMA....

INDOOR CEREMONIES: 50 person maximum capacity permitted in the entire funeral home
CHAPEL CAPACITY: 50 person maximum
OUTDOOR CEREMONIES: 50 person maximum at the cemetery.
Please note: children and babies also account for numbers.
Staff will continuously be monitoring capacity numbers. Once we have reached capacity, guests will be asked to remain outside, as there is NO gathering in the funeral centre at anytime.
MANDATORY: Face masks must be worn inside of the funeral centre at all times.
