Man this is so hard to swallow. Amoy is one of the sweetest people I know. I have had the opportunity to play for Amoy. Mix for Amoy even travelled together to various concerts and gigs and man those trips were always fun and hilarious. To the Levy family, keep your heads up. You will see Amoy again one day. Love y’all and I will be sure to hit y’all up when I come into Toronto so I could give y’all a big hug. It’s long overdue. Miss y’all and I am asking Gods favor to give you strength in this time. To: the Levy family,
Please accept my deepest condolences to each and every one of you. May God's grace sustain you and draw you closer together at this difficult time.
As the gospel community is relatively small, I have had the pleasure of singing with Amoy on many occasions. I sang with Toronto Mass Choir and MWA at Rhema Christian Ministries. When my last daughter was a few months old my husband took us to a concert at Harbourfront. Youth Outreach Mass Choir was the headliner. Amoy spotted us in the audience and found a table and an extra chair so I could put my feet up. It was one of the best performances I ever attended. I miss you terribly my friend. Rest in perfect peace until we meet again. Love Angela Stevens.

It is difficult to say goodbye to such a beautiful friend that became family. There are so many wonderful memories with Amoy and her sisters. Amoy would always be making us laugh, and had such a big smile. Amoy was very special, kind, compassionate and gifted. Even though I am sad, I grieve with hope knowing that she has lived her life to hear our God say, "well done, good and faithful servant." I am comforted by that the fact that she is whole, completely healed and singing heavenly praises. Aww...how sweet that choir must sound. Sonia, Pauline and Ciceal I lift you up in prayer and ask God to give you peace in this very difficult time. Life to you.

To my dear Friend ‘Moy’ ... how do I honour you gracefully and not let this be about me. Moy, you were a Friend to many ... you were the ‘ride or die’ friend to ME. DMD use to call us Cochrane (me) and Shapiro (you) ... you couldn’t put much past us. You were my friend/ my family who showed up at my apartment unannounced with your overnight bag, food, our coffee and the intent to ‘cheer me up’. You showed up for me in many ways as I did for you and THIS pain is immeasurable, THIS loss is unbelievable, THIS pain is unlike any other I have experienced. Our last encounter at your Dad’s funeral, I came in the funeral colors without us planning it and you said to me, ‘You know how it is between us, we are just connected like that”, we gave our kisses on the cheek, hugged and promised to catch up before the night ended. I will miss you my sweet, sweet Angel Moy! I honour your transition to sing with your Mom and to have ‘Don’ (Dad) keep the beat! Moy, until we meet again. Love you.
You fought a good fight ... take your rest Queen!
My special condolences to Sonia, Pauline, Ciceal and Ciceal’s children. My condolences to all Amoy’s aunts, uncles and cousins. I pray for God to comfort you all during this time of great loss as I know Moy was very special to you. Blessings.

Life is just a stepping-stone
A pause before we make it home
A simple place to rest and be,
Until we reach eternity.
Everyone has a life journey,
A path to take with lots to see
God guides our steps along the way,
But we were never meant to stay.
Our final destination is a place
Filled with love, His majesty and grace.
Today we celebrate the life of a loved one
Who has gone before us, the race she has won.
Her journey has now ended,
Her spirit has ascended
Claiming the great reward
With Jesus, our Lord.

Amoy was a beautiful person inside and out. I got to know her well through my good friend Pauline her sister. When Amoy was sick many years ago Pauline brought her back to health and brought her many times into the office so she was not alone. It was during these times that I really got to know Amoy and we had many insightful and wonderful conversations about lilfe. A few years later when my oldest son got married Amoy wanted to sing at his wedding and there was not a dry eye in the room when she began to sing. I was watching the video of Matt's wedding the other day listening to Amoy and am broken at the loss of this beautiful talented lady. We can only take comfort in the fact that she is reunited with her Mom and Dad and singing for all in heaven. Rest in Peace Amoy , Jane Maiss and family

My heart is beyond heavy these days. I'm a musician and comedian, but there is very little music or funny in my bones these days.
I had the absolute pleasure of performing with the Tonetts, Amoy, Marlene and Cathy.
Individually they have amazing voices but together... Heavenly.
Sometimes my role was as the comedic host, impersonating the Big Bopper, or as the lead guitarist in the band.
As the comedian I would focus on making the audience laugh. As the guitar player I would focus on the music AND making the Tonetts laugh. Amoy would laugh with a smile that lit up the stage. A big laugh that would fill your heart in an instant. (Comedians live for this).
As a guitar player I was always positioned far stage left or right, behind the Tonettes.
On one particularly long 3 1/2 hour show, the ladies that were dressed to the nines, got a little weary in their high-heeled shoes. One by one they slipped them off and pushed them back towards me so they would be out of their way.
The audience didn't notice this wardrobe change as their feet were hidden on stage by two large vocal monitors. Since the Tonettes became 2 1/2 inches shorter all at the same time, no one was the wiser.
In-between songs and as the lead singer would banter on, I decided to have my first ladies shoe collection. After each song I would quietly grab one of their discarded pieces of footwear hang it off my amp, a near by speaker or any bit of nearby staging. I hung Amoy's shoes off of a nearby mic boom. They sparkled like stars as they danced in the stage lighting.
Occasionally one of the ladies would look back and smile at something I was doing on guitar but they never noticed the beautifully redecorated space I was now inhabiting.
On the very last song of the night the star of the show rambled on with a mouth full of thank yous. Getting bored with how long this speech was lasting, Amoy turned and smiled at me with a little roll of her eyes that said "Can we go home soon?" She then noticed her shoes dangling in what must have seemed mid-air. Her face looked confused. Then, in what felt like one guick motion, she looked down at the stage, then to her feet and finally back to her floating shoes... she lost it. Huge hysterical laughter. Kathy then spun around as did Marlene. With hands to their mouths trying to stifle some very big laughs that were now spilling into the vocal mics, they lost it. Very unprofessional. I loved it. The star of the show didn't look thrilled with the interruption AND the ladies later branded me as the guy with a foot fetish. Oh but it was worth it. (More of a shoe fetish really).
Thank you Amoy for your voice, your laughter, your love, your shoes.

Music flowed from your lips
Generated from the heart
A kiss from heaven layed in your voice ..you've parted from us
All or nothing, you gave your all inspiring those around you to do the same
All your hurt and dismay
you channeled it in a way
That allows those that heard your voice to understand and pray
And now this moment that we remember always
Never to be cascaded with the thought that you've gone away
Let us do like we used to and hold hands and pray
That with preserveance and dedication we will met again someday
So much to say...so much to say

Missing Amoy, is like missing a family member. I knew Amoy from being a baby. Watched her grow up with our two children and singing in the choir and hanging out together. Her ability to stun the audience with her lovely voice was a blessing. There were days when our children, Jacqueline and Jason would not come home on various nights after choir practice ,only to learn that they slept over at the Levy’s home which was a haven for most young people. Amoy was a blessing to say the least. Amoy and our children also gain the privilege of singing with Rita Mc Neil ( the county singer) She was needless to say a great singer who loved the Lord. She will be missed by many. There is no doubt that this time is an unusual time for the family and all of us.We cannot get together as we would have liked but we will be praying for the family.

Mr. & Mrs. Levy rented the upper level of their house on Blackthorne Avenue to my mom, my sister Ruth & I when we returned from Sierra Leone. Sonia, Pauline, Amoy & Ciceal, my sister and I spent countless hours together in and around that house, playing, laughing & sometimes fighting. Summer days we would sit outside. We used to watch & sing with Donnie & Marie on Friday nights, and we had a lot of laughs. Years later I ran into Amoy at a gospel youth conference; more recently I ran into her again at a friend’s CD release that she was involved in. We are so sorry about her illness and passing. Deepest condolences to you Sonia, Pauline & Ciceal, as you try to navigate yet another loss in your family. Please take comfort in the fact that Amoy’s acknowledgement of her sin and commitment to Jesus guarantees that she is happily walking with Him in heaven today - and your mom & dad! What UTTER & ABSOLUTE JOY for her! Take courage. Deuteronomy 31:8: “ The LORD Himself goes before you; He will be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.” Sincerely, Grace VandenBerg (for the Goba family)

My sincere condolences to the Levy family. I can recall the first time I heard Amoy singing, back in 1980's. What a VOICE. She has always been an amazing, humble person. I remember when I first started playing the bass guitar, she told me " my sister Sonia plays as well, keep going". The rest is history. Thank you Amoy for that encouragement, I never forgot that. You most certainly will be missed. Take your rest my dear. We will see you in the morning.

The Edwards family would like to send our condolences to the Levy family. I remember spending fun times in Central London with Amoy, Sharon Welch, The late Selvin and myself, we had a great time laughing and enjoying time together. God has Amoy in his arms because her work was done. May her soul RIP .

My earliest memory of Amoy is when I was little. My dad and (the late) Br. Levy were really good friends. Always a smile and a “how are you honey?” whenever we saw each other. I used to tease her and Sharon and call them the CEOs of Tim Horton. I promise they were the ones who kept Timmys in business! Amoy, we will miss your smile, your voice, your warmth, your sense of style … most of all, we will miss YOU. Sleep well, my sister and we will see you in the morning.

“Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I’ve found that peace at the end of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life’s been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’ touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.”
Ciceal, Pauline and Sonia...Find solace in knowing that Amoy is now among the band of angels. Live your life with purpose as she did using your gifts to effect positive change in the hearts of many... Amoy is no longer with us but the imprint she has made will never be forgotten neither will her angelic voice!!!
Amoy you brought so much light to the world..you will be missed.
Love Mick and Carlz

So many different thoughts & emotions come to mind. Such a beautiful and rare gem; one of a kind! My heartfelt condolences to the entire family & friends. Truly a beautiful soul that will never be forgotten. I'm continuing to pray God's peace.
My profound admiration for Amoy grew throughout the many chapters of my life from my choir director of YOMC, mentor & counselor throughout my teenage years and to one of the hardest moments, standing along beside me with Ciceal arm & arm as we sang "It is well" at my brother's grave saying goodbye. Thank you for continuing to check in on me. I am truly grateful & humbly honored to have had this last powerful moments with you. You will never be forgotten. Thank you for your listening ears, you're open heart, you're stern correction and hugs throughout the years. My heart is heavy but I am so very happy that you're no longer suffering and you're rejoicing singing & resting with Jesus. THANK YOU Amoy for sharing you beautiful, anointed unique & versatile voice with the world for generations. Well done my Sister in Christ.
Rest well,
Ange McGowan
