I've been putting off posting anything on this forum because it was just too hard. It meant acknowledging that this is real.
To me aunty Maureen represents unwavering love and commitment to family. Aunty held those she loved closely and tightly. Before it became so easy to communicate with each other, Aunty Maureen would always be the one to make those long distance calls, send card and photos by post for birthday, for holidays or for no reason in particular, just because she cared. So now, with technology it just meant that she was able to be in contact constantly.
I will miss that. I will miss her unconditional love, I will miss our chats, I will miss her filling me in on family history, I will miss her smile and her scandalous laughter. I will miss everything about her. Words cannot convey how much I loved her and how much I miss her and will continue to miss her.
Sending love and warm hugs to Rasheda, Kaunda, Aunty Theresa, Jada, Mayiah and Arianna. We all wish that we could be there with you all at this time.
Thinking of and sending love and hugs to the rest of the cousins, to my dad (Kenny), my uncles (Phillip, Wayne and Felix) and aunty Mary and Harri. To my siblings and all the many (friends and family) who loved and cherished the blessing that aunty Maureen was in our lives. Praying for our peace and comfort at this time.

To my Rasheda, Kaunda, Jada, Mayiah, Arianna, Aunty Theresa, Uncle Kenny (daddy), Uncle Phillip, Uncle Wayne, Uncle Felix, Aunty Mary and aunty Harriot, we love you all and will be praying for you. Our family has been blessed with no shortage of nurturing, loving, kind, strong maternal figures. So to standout among these beacons was no small feat and aunty Maureen stood out and still stands out among these great women in our family. Her personality filled every heart, even her displeasure from what I have heard ( since I was never on the receiving end LOL) came with love and healing. Aunty was know for being the one person that we all could count on to at minimum recieve a call from on birthdays and special occasions. I personally will miss her immensely she is always going to be remember fondly in my heart. I am blessed to have experienced aunties love. Its not possible to sum up in a life time what the moments with aunty has meant to me so I'll say this, I loved My aunty deeply and I have been blessed to have been loved by this particular diamond of a lady.

Maureen, loved us (her siblings) sooo much. She was one of eight strong links that God blessed my mom with, we all are missing her sooo much, and it is only my God's grace we will go through today and the days ahead. Time we know would heal our broken hearts. We look forward to meeting Maureen again on that Great Reunion morning. RIP our sweet sister.

A memory of Maureen and her children with our Mom, fondly known as Manka. (2004)
The Edwards family and the Theodore family were divinely brought together in the early 1980's at a time when both families needed each other. We lived as one family enjoying many great memorable occasions. Maureen leaves behind a legacy of loving, caring and sharing. She will be greatly missed.

I became friends with Rasheda from nursing school an had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Edwards. She was a pleasant lady with a welcoming spirit and I felt welcome in her home. Rasheda told me from time to time that she would ask how I was doing and made me really appreciate her motherly qualities. I am blessed to have known her and express my deepest condolences to Rasheda and the rest of the family!

I met Maureen 29 years ago when I lived in Brampton. We immediately became friends. At the time my children we very young. She invited my family over to her home for "Sunday lunch". I remember how hospitable and warm the whole afternoon was. I felt llie I was back in Trinidad. She and her beautiful daughter Rasheeda made me forget how home sick I was. We were in Canada just 3 or 4 years st the time. I remember how good the food tasted and felt happy to know that our traditions were kept alive in food and the way Rasheeda and Kaonda was raised. Rasheed was young and knew how to cook just like Trini girls would. Maureen was a blessing not only to her family but to every person who was ever privileged enough to encounter her in their lives. I moved to the USA and she would still find time to call and chat. Rest in eternal peace beloved friend. May God receive you and continue to bless your beautiful family.

Auntie has always been my personal cheerleader! Her beautiful spirit personified self-less living, unconditional love and acceptance no matter what. No one could ever be around her and feel like an outsider--you were welcomed with open arms. She embraced life, embraced me and I was simply her niece. I could count on her to reach out just to say hello or to check in on the boys and me quite often. Her scandalous laugh and fresh jokes with her nephew were quite amusing. Her devotion to family was second to none and we all know how much she valued her family--near or far.
You will forever hold a special place in my heart--words are inadequate to express how much I love and appreciate you. My hope rests in the resurrection that you will rise to new life at the coming of Jesus. Rest now and we will be together again by God's grace. Love you now and for all eternity, Sherlene

My loving Cousin!!!
There are so many memories that I share with you that it is near impossible to document only one memory. I will forever thank you for opening your heart and arms to me whenever I would visit Canada. I will forever remember watching you enjoy your gardening and I would also thank you for encouraging me to do the same. Other memories include:
1. Visiting the CN Tower
2. Journeying to down town Toronto
3 . Our visits to the Niagra Falls
4. Taking me to an actual NBA Game
5. Helping me with my wedding
6. And most of all engaging me in regular video call to share family time.
Your memory will always live on in my heart. RIP my loving Cousin.

A beautiful grandmother and her unconditional loving heart. Words can’t tell how much she meant to me. Mama taught me all the things I know and pushed me to be the best person I can be. Small but precious memory’s with you were more special then you would think. Mama was always laugh, her unique laugh has been plays in my head. Talking to her was so easy, she was so understanding. I know I could call my grandmother at any time and she would be ready to crack a joke. She will greatly be missed. Mama I wish you did not have to go, but I know you are no longer in pain. My deepest condolences! Octavia is my dearest and longest friend she’s more like family to me she had known my mom my grandma my husband and my daughter always asking me for them and how they are doing. I have known Octavia for over 25 years there’s sooo much I can say about her she’s very caring and say things how she see’s it and honest she may sound rude or bold but that’s the way she is, but she means well, she has a good heart and I love that about her. I see a bit of myself in her, that was why we’re were such good friends cause we understand each other and kind of the same. I will surely miss you girl. May god give but you in his beautiful garden in heaven my dearest sweet friend Sleep peaceful my sweet girl!

When I moved in my new neighborhood 4 years ago, Mrs Edwards welcomed me as her own daughter, grandaughter and as a friend. She taught me so much about gardening. I remember asking her if she knew about how to get rid of weeds from my walkway since they were showing up so much and I was tired of it. She was like no problem darling I have the remedy but don't tell no one my remedy..(haha) the remedy did work and I will keep her secret forever. Last year Summer as we were in her garden she told me she will gave me a plant to add to my garden..she kept her promise and gave her son the plant so I can plant in my garden. I will forever cherish, water and take the best care of the plant as a reminder of her. You are truly missed. Thank you for being as loving and caring to me for the past 4 years. See you on the next side.

Ms. Maureen or momma to many others was a truly beautiful woman with a huge heart. Every Christmas or special occasion (including my bridal shower) she would bake her infamous coconut bread. It was more than just the fact that it tasted so nice it was the gesture. She is my nieces grandmother and became one of my mothers close friends over the years. You could always count on her smile or or laugh or her loving ways when you needed it. I will never forget that and her amazing spirit will love on through her kids and beautiful granddaughters.
