My aunty, affectionately called Sister Cordell , and I had a very close relationship/bond. Often times you would catch us we sitting and discussing life’s journey; both the good and the bad. Sister Cordell had her own way of doing things including making her remedies of us whenever we fell ill. She was also quite stern and a grave disciplinary. I can recall once taking a loan from her and you better believe you had to pay her back, even if was just half; that was just her way of teaching us one of life’s many lessons, discipline and accountability.
My most memorable memories of my aunt surrounds her incredibly faith in God. I remember her being at home and there was the need for something to eat. She looked up at her breadfruit tree and saw a breadfruit ready to be picked but unfortunately no one to do that. She callled out to the Lord and in no time the breadfruit fell from the tree. There are so much more fond memories of my aunt but for now I will say she has transcended into a better place. A place with no more sorrow, no more burden, a place of pertual peace. We will see each other again in heaven Rest in peace Aunty Cordell.

One of the greatest blessings in the life of a young Christian is to have someone you can look to as a living example of what Christianity really is. In addition to my parents who were Pastors of the church I grew up in, there was Sister Cordell. She was the epitome of strength, a beacon of light, and an example of undaunted faith. As a Christian youth, I would often hear my parents speak about her dedication to the church and her strong commitment to the Lord.
When my father passed and I took over the office of Pastor of Spicy Grove Pentecostal Church, it was an absolute honor to have Evangelist Walters as a paragon of wisdom working beside me in guiding the children of God. As a young Pastor, I would consult with her for added insight and for spiritual direction. It was also quite refreshing and inspiring to sometimes sit back and have her preach with life changing anointing and unbridled passion. Her presence in the church and in the community was quite impactful, and there is hardly anyone who knew her that has not learned something from her.
It was such an absolute privilege to have seen her, hugged her, taken some pictures with her, and to have spent some memorable moments with her a year ago when I visited Canada. It was then that for the first time I heard directly from her the details of one of her miraculous experiences.
While others in Jamaica needed a ladder and long stick to pick breadfruits and coconuts from really tall trees, Evangelist Walters used her extraordinary faith to get them to the ground. She shared that on an occasion where she needed food for her family, she walked over to the breadfruit tree in her yard and prayed…a well fit breadfruit fell at her feet! She then walked towards a coconut tree and prayed…a dry coconut fell at her feet! That evening’s dinner was Roast Breadfruit and ‘Run-dung’. The Angels of the Lord will go beyond encamping around those who fear the Lord; for special souls like Sister Cordell they also pick breadfruit and dry coconut !!!
Evangelist Cordell Walters, “Sister Cordell” left an invaluable spiritual legacy for her family, unforgettable testimonies for the body of Christ, and left a library of wise words for the hundreds of us who were blessed to have shared some precious time with her. The host of heaven rejoiced as they celebrated the triumphant entry of another spiritual icon into the glorious presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In Remembrance of Cordell M. Walters
As you gather to pay a final farewell to our beloved sister and auntie Cordell, the entire Gallimore family in America sends its deepest condolences to your family. We share in your loss and sadness at her death, but we can go on with our lives knowing that she is at eternal rest.
We will always remember the person of strong character who she was and the good deeds that she did. Among those deeds was her extraordinary sacrifice and kindness in caring for the six young children of her older sister, Josephine, while she was working in the United States for 9 months in 1967. It was a sacrifice because at the time Sister Cordell had her hands full with three young children of her own. She was not only an auntie but also a mother to her nieces and nephews during that crucial time in their lives. Her act of kindness allowed the entire family to emigrate to the U.S. For that sacrifice, we will forever be grateful.
Her road through life was not always easy but she persevered and kept the faith. She has left us a great example to follow. These times of grief and loss are never easy but we have found that there is assistance from God to bear the burden. Today, we offer you two verses from the Bible that have helped us to go through the pain that you now face.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
To all the immediate family: Evelyn, Dorothy, Janet, Bob, and Garth; and to Uncle Johnny, we offer you these words of comfort in your time of grief and loss. Though the present night seems long and dark, we know that God will give you strength to endure until he brings along a day when you can again focus on the sunshine and all that’s pleasant in life.
With all our love and prayers:

It is with deepest regrets that you have to go but God knows best. I know you are with your sister (my mother) in a safe place no more pain or heartache. Please when you see her tell her I send hugs and kisses.
"While you were here"
There are so many memories of you that I cannot pen them all right now. You were an ordinary woman who found the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. I admire your resilience and strength of character. A "woman of valor", you were described as the personification of wisdom, a warrior and a ‘fighter’ at heart; strength and courage were in your bosom. Your disposition embraced professionalism, trust, perseverance, confidence and responsibilities. You were a great counsellor and advisor. Your money management skills were invaluable. It was evident that you were the epitome of motherhood.
Your Godly traits defined a woman of faith, one who: feared the Lord, trust the Lord, kept herself in the word, prayed and had fellowship. Your beauty was defined by your spiritual life.
You will always be in our hearts. May your soul rest in peace Aunty Cordell.

Sister Dorthy,Sister Janet and the rest of the family, What can we say that in the smallest degree to express our sorrow and regret? How can we lighten the burden of your grief at the loss of Mother Walters, such great Lady she was. A great icon.
Any consolation we could offer would be in vain if you were one of those who sorrow without hope. But we know that you feel as we feel, that parting of Mother Walters is but for a while, and that in a future happier state, we will meet her again. At this time we cannot refrain from sending you a few line to assure you of our true and fullest sympathy for you and the rest family. We know God in his mercy will strengthen you.

Mother Walters, when we had our Ladies Empowerment session and I saw you all dressed up with your hat on and that beautiful smile. I remember asking you what do you do to help you relax and your reply was "pray". I had no idea, that it would be the last time, that I would see your smiling face. Sleep on in Jesus and take your rest until resurrection morning. Our heavenly father has made us a promise that if we are faithful till death, we shall wear a crown. Your journey of pilgrimage has come to an end and your earthly tabernacle has been dissolved. As the word states "For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." 2 Cor. 5:1.
To all the children and family members be encouraged as the late mother Walters is not dead but sleeping waiting for the glorious return of the Lord
God Bless you

Today Pastor Lloyd and Velma Walford and Saints of the Liberty Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Priory, Roadside District of Saint Ann in Jamaica West Indies do salute the memory of a stalwart and icon Mother Cordell M. Walters. Who has been widely recognized all over her Chester, Liberty and surrounding communities and by extension Jamaica for her stellar contribution in the field of religion and business. She has been known as an individual of great strength and wisdom. A truly virtuous woman indeed who lived the life of a true child of God and of course represents the culture of a warm and wonderful Jamaican spirit while not losing out on her real spiritual purpose in life.
Mother Walters to us have been a tremendous blessing to us personally and the church at large. Her shoe is the desire of many to fill as she has touched lives so significantly in a positive way that her contacts and associates revere her. A woman of tremendous worth. She has inspired many towards believing in themselves against all odds and have mentored a good number of people of all ages through her various ministry and life skill experiences.
Today offer our sincerest condolences to Evangelist Dorothy Walters, Evangelist Janet Walters-McGill, Evangelist Evelyn Walters-Plowright, Garth Walters and Orville Walters as well as her other family, friends and associates. Earths loss is heavens gain. We mourn with you in this most difficult time but do ask our God to grant unto you the oil of joy to them that mourn; the garment of praise for your spirit of heaviness and beauty in the ashes of this situation.
I Thessalonians 4:18 says……For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel. And with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
We take comfort in this fact as declared above and rejoice in hope of the day when we shall meet again on the portals of glory. Mother Walters is gone but will never be forgotten. Her memories lives on dearly in our hearts……..pleasant ones of grace and strength of an indomitable woman who against all odds have come to be loved and cherished by so many she has touched by her life here on this earth.
Walk good Mother Walters we salute you in memoriam.

Mother, Daughter, Sister and indeed an Angel, Cordell Walters ❤❤❤
Mother Walters, Gods precious gift, a powerful women of God and an epitome of a true role model and positive motivator.
Aunty Cordell, you have motivated, inspired and groomed me though life's journey.
You are truly an angel from God. I'm blessed I have received the opportunity to live with a loving and affectionate woman like you. I can remember the days when I would visit you and the first thing you would do is to greet me with your beautiful smile with your arms wide open with pure love. Your words of encouragement about Christ is second to none. You're
always ready to quote a few scriptures to warm my heart and welcome me to Christ.
Prayer is a must with mother Walters. And for this, I will forever say, you are indeed one of God's favorite flower. Everything about you is astonishing and magnificent.
You're my number one chef, an excellent cook. I enjoyed the sumptuous meals you prepared. I am forever grateful for all skills and values you imparted on me.
Mother Walters, my earth angel, a gift from God, I will cherished every moment we had walked hand in hand together with you. But, If tears could build a stairway and our memories could create a lane, I would walk right up to heaven and bring you back again. Though no farewell words were spoken, no time to say Goodbye. Youre gone before i knew it and only God knows why. My heart still aches with sadness and tears still flows. Now I know youre at a better place.
Sleep on mother Walters

Although your passing was unexpected, our dearest mother! You have entered Mount Zion, the heavenly
Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have entered his gates with singing, and everlasting joy crowns
your head. Gladness and joy have overtaken you, and sorrow and sighing have fled away.
Our most beloved mother! Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more. The Lord will
be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow and labor have ended. You are now before the throne
of God to serve him always in his temple. He who sits on the throne has already spread his tent over you,
and never again will you hunger, never again will you thirst. The Lamb in the center of the throne will be
your Shepherd and will lead you to springs of living water. God has wiped away every tear from your
eyes. Now your face glows with joy and your eyes sparkle with splendor.
Our dearest mother! You have entered into your eternal rest. And what is that rest? What is that blessing?
It is seeing the face of Jesus whom you loved as a little girl.
We grieve today, we will grieve tomorrow, and we will grieve all our days for you, our mother. But we are
glad that you are eternally happy. For you, there will be no more death, no more mourning, no more
crying, and no more pain. Soon our own sorrow and pain will also be over. It is only a matter of time, and
then we whom you taught to trust in Jesus will join you and your Lord for the everlasting joy and unending
celebration of heaven.
We, your children – Evelyn, Orville Garth, Dorothy and Janet salute you. All your dear friends salute you.
We rejoice in your glorious salvation.

I quote one writer who wrote, "Death ends life, not relationships." I'm writing this tribute in celebration of Aunt Cordell's life. My memories of her are very pleasant. We had a very close relationship and she could be trusted for good advise, hospitality, love and prayer. She wore an infectious smile constantly for everyone, which reflected a burst of sunshine. She was a very kindhearted and loving person.
Aunt Cordell was a woman of purpose, and is a reflection of the Proverbs 31 woman. She lived an exemplary life that was disciplined by her Christian faith in God. She paid close attention to details, which was evident in her homemaking, raising her family, and doing business, as she lived a Christian lifestyle.
Aunt Cordell is greatly missed.May her soul rest in perpetual peace.

My heart is broken because I can't understand why someone so precious had to die. Sister Cordell was the kindest, soft spoken, loving and caring person I've ever met. She always gave me positive words of encouragement. Oh my God my heart is so heavy. I can't believe you're gone. Sister Cordell was such a beautiful soul. A very wise and intelligent woman of God! I always look forward to spend time with my sister in law. We would get together for her birthdays, Mother's Day or just simply walk around in the mall. She was so pleasant and fun to be around. Always cheerful, Sister Cordell would always encourage me to read my bible and pray. She was very knowledgeable when it comes to the bible.
Sister Cordell will be missed by all. Gone but never will be forgotten. Sister Cordell will always be in my heart.

Tribute for Missionary Cordel Walters from the Spicy Grove Apostolic Ministries International
The scripture in Psalm 116 v 15 states,“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints”. It is a review and understanding of these words, among others, that help us to deal with the transition of one of the mothers of the Spicy Grove Apostolic Ministries nestled in the cool hills of St. Ann, Jamaica. We extend profound condolences to her family, relatives and all those who were impacted by her life.
Her walk with the Lord commenced in her youthful years and continued steadfastly to the very last mile of her earthly sojourn. A woman of dignity, Missionary Cordel Walters epitomized faith with works. She is remembered as a gentle, compassionate, firm, loyal, kind and committed member of the church family. She exuded warmth, confidence, poise and class not just in speech but also in her decorum and Christian walk.
Missy Walters was an encourager, a prayer warrior, a friend, a confidante who demonstrated her passion for the Lord. This was evidenced in her dedication in working faithfully alongside her late Pastor Enos Simmonds ,in Spicy Grove, to establish fledging churches in neighboring communities. Her support was unwavering and her affection was shared to her then late Pastor, his wife and family. In later years, similar affection was shared with the current Pastor, Bishop Dr. Baron Simmonds, his wife and family.
She consistently embraced others to stay the course of the Christian pathway through ministry of the word, testimonies and prayer life. Missy Walters unapologetically maintained her conviction and persuasion of the tenets of the Apostolic doctrine and even to this day, we are beneficiaries of the fruits of her labour.
She has run her race successfully, she has finished her course and her crown awaits her in glory as her soul rests in peace.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." --2 Corinthians 1:3-4
On behalf of my wife, and the entire Mount Zion Church family, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Walters and the extended family.
Mother Walters was a greatly respected mother at the Mount Zion Apostolic Church of Canada for over 15 years. She was a woman of great strength and commitment. Mother Walters always had kind words to share and her quiet words of wisdom will be greatly missed.
We sincerely appreciate the time we had with her, and though we will miss her greatly, we know she was looking forward to going home. Mother Walters lived a 'ready' life, and we are grateful for the example she has set for us who remain.
Her dedication to the Word of God was extraordinary and will certainly be remembered.
We continue to keep the bereaved family in our prayers as we hold on to the Word of the Lord "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." --Matthew 5:4
Sleep sweet Mother, until we meet again.
