Obituary of Sharon Maria Castell

It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Sharon on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Trillium Health Hospital in Mississauga.

Sharon was a loving and devoted mother to Sheldon and Shanel who were the shining stars in her life. A caring sister, daughter, aunt, a loyal friend and confidant and a warm, supportive colleague to all who had the privilege and pleasure of knowing and interacting with her.

The first thing you noticed about Sharon was her bright smile which lit up the room. She always made it her duty to make people feel welcomed and included in every aspect of her life.

She will be remembered as a friendly, fun-loving, social butterfly, always willing to lend a helping hand and take care of others. The warmth of her spirit could be felt by all that she touched.

Manulife was her home away from home as she spent 17 years of her career in the John Hancock Life Insurance Performance Improvement Department. She had a calming and stable presence in the office especially in times of turmoil. In her role, she supported not only her team but a cross section of business units both in the US and Canadian divisions.

Outside of work duties, Sharon was an active volunteer in many initiatives with causes that enriched and gave back to the community such as the United Way and assisting new comers to Canada.

She will be sorely missed by her family and the many people who loved and cared for her.
