This is the hardest thing for me right now. Saying goodbye to my sister, friend, confidant, and counsellor. Condolences to Albert and family. I know this is the darkest part of your life. I have no clue when you will get over this but with God,s help all things are possible.
Perlene girl, you were so strong and positive. The most understanding and caring person i knew. I am happy that i was able to tell you all the positive qualities that you posses before you go. I miss you so much. We spoke in January for over an hour and you were hopeful, positive and very spiritual. I told you that i hope to be like you and you gave me the biggest laugh and said to me "girl it is not me but Jesus".
I asked God with teary eyes "why bad things always happen to good people and the wicked ones are here terrorizing us". I MISS YOU SO SO SO MUCH. THIS SUMMER I WILL NOT SEE YOU. LORD IT HARD, IT ROUGH. There has never been a time that your in Jamaica and don't come to spend a week or more with me. We would talk on the phone for hours when i am at work. It was easy for me to tell you every and anything. Your were indeed and angel. I saw how your health deteriorates over the months but yet, you dealt with it like a warrior.
I truly miss you, you were a phenomenonial and God fearing women and thank God for the years i spent with you. Rest my dear friend because one we will meet again.
Albert and the kids i do hope you will be alright. My prayers are with you all.

So very sorry Albert and family. I share your sorrow at the passing of my beloved friend. We met at NCB and soon became best friends because we had so much in common. She totally amazed me when she wanted to have six children but we both settled on three. We emigrated months apart but we were lucky to be just three hours drive from each other even though we were in different countries. We both went back to college and shared the challenges of it all. We shared similar weather so we chatted for hours on end. Today it’s all history. I, like you, was looking forward to many more awesome years but I’m so grateful for the wonderful memories we made together. May we continue her legacy of love and warm welcome. May we continue to guide and counsel like she did. May we continue to be compassionate and kind like she was. May her memory bring tears of joy. May Father grant Althea eternal rest.

Even though you are not with us physically anymore, I know you are with us in spirit.
I have so many wonderful memories I can share, but words can't express the beauty you had both inside and out.

I feel your pain...God knows...her pain has ceased, her race had ended...she has fought a good fight...let us weep not, like those who have no hope.

I am a broken man, a friend and school mate. My better half is gone, but the image of her face and character I can see in our children Shade, Albert and Shanique which give me comfort. I was truly blessed to have a wife who loved me and someone I loved so much. She rarely did things for herself wanting to make sure her family was always happy and healthy. If anyone told me Althea would be leaving us a year ago, I would say you are a liar! Get out of here, but Althea, my friend, Albert wife, Shanique, Albert and Shade' mother, is gone. Way too soon. Althea continues to be the angel she was here on earth. She's just moved on to higher ground, a better place, a kinder place. She'll be missed but her legacy of love, beauty, cheerfulness, selflessness, strength, power and rock solid faith lives on!
Althea's Mama did a fantastic job caring for her from birth till her last days. Her second half Al was and continues to be a loving and selfless spouse. I remember the long walk with Althea to Trinity Mall, the conversation was interesting that the distance didn't matter. The brother and sister race take the cake when Althea was the commentator.
