Wow, I can't believe I'm actually doing this. On December 26th at 4.24 a.m. my life changed forever. I had a moment that I was not expecting. The call came in that my mother had stopped breathing.. With panic and disbelief, I jumped from my bed and was out the door in minutes. Myself, one of my brother and one of my nephew. I knew that I was sitting in a car but I couldn't feel the seat. I was so cold and numb. Upon arrival at the hospital I hurriedly find my way to the 6th floor, ICU unit 641. The sight I saw was unbearable and heart-breaking, but I walked in with courage and for the following few hours I stood strong for her. Unfortunately at 11:41 a.m. Neveta, Ms. Nev, Mama, Nevie, Grams, Grandma and auntie Nev said goodbye to this life and hello to her new life. She had a precious hope and I believe that she's living that hope.
We all misses her dearly. Her stories will never be lost, her special deeds and ways will always be remembered but most of all she will be greatly missed by all of us. Thank you Ms. Nev/Nevie (as I call her) for the life and opportunities you have given to me. The house feels so empty without you, the boys missed you terribly, especially Ele (your nurse). We all love you, but Jesus loves you best, therefore he has decided that he needs to spend more time with you. Sleep on Nevie, along with your Father, Mother, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and your husband. Now you don't have to worry about waking up so early or not sleeping properly at nights. We love you until we meet again some sweet day.
