Obituary of Sedrick Boneto Brown
Friends and family, we are honored to share the Story of an extraordinary man, Mr. Sedrick Boneto Brown. Sedrick was born on July 19th 1941 in Bois Content, St Catherine, Jamaica. He met his to be wife Dorine in Jamica and marry in Canada after they migrated in the early 70’s. Sedrick and Dorine were married for 49 years before her passing.
Sedrick was predeceased by his beloved wife Dorine; his parents Clarabelle Wright and Lorenzo Brown; grandson Justin; and siblings Lurlene, Lucille, Clovis and Leonard.
He is survived by his children Sandra (Steve), Karen (Richard), Richard (Michelle), O’Neil (Michelle), and Cory (Lorraine). Siblings Beryl, Joy, Violet, Lebert, and Dalvin. Grandchildren Khaleeq, Joshua, Preston, Andre, Kendra, Simone, Mikayla, Shemar, Brandon, Theo, Richie, Devonte, Liam, Aiden, Avery, Jayden, Jhordan, Jammal, Dashawn, Cheyanne, Tianna, Ebony and Arielle. Great-grandchildren Zyon, Xavion, Nazyr, Natalie, Raedyn, Lanaiyah, Phoebe, Daishaun, Pariis, Nubian, Kaiden and Soleilah. His many nieces, nephews and cousins all brought a smile to his face when he spoke of them.
Sedrick was more than a devoted family man, he was a great friend to many, he nurtured friendships that spanned decades. He had an insatiable appetite for music and technology. Music was a craft he mastered as a member of the singing group, “The Rocking Moments” in the 70’s and 80’s.
For over 40 years he worked tirelessly as a forklift operator at Bauer Canada. There he was highly respected by his peers; his unwavering dedication was evident. His commitment to his job was matched only by his commitment to his loves ones.
To his family, Sedrick was the epitome of selflessness. He lived to spoil his grandchildren, showering them with love, laughter and storytelling. He would comment on how proud he is of them.
One of Sedrick’s gifts was his patience, slow to anger and quick to forgive. He showed us that strength lies not in reaction, but in compassion, understanding and humility.
Sedrick was called home on November 5th, 2024 surrounded by his family. As we say goodbye, we remember his unshakeable optimism, resilience, and his love for a good BBQ. His legacy is etched in our hearts. Sedrick, you may be gone but your impact on our lives will never fade.
Rest in peace, your family will miss you dearly, but we take comfort in knowing you are watching over us, smiling.
