Obituary of Joyce Ena Bonnick

Joyce Ena Bonnick (née Peart) was born on October 9, 1953 in Manchester, Jamaica, to Inez Ricketts and Leslie Peart (both deceased). She passed away on May 3, 2024. 

Ena started her education at Bryce All Age School and completed her higher education at Holmwood Technical High School where she majored in secretarial studies. She entered the world of work at the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) before migrating to Canada, where she gave exceptional service as a highly valued employee at Zurich Insurance and later, in the health sector.  

Ena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend. She was passionate about her family and friends and radiated love, laughter and light. You could never be sad in her company, and she embraced everyone unreservedly.  

God, and her relationship with Him, was Ena’s priority. At church, she supported fundraising efforts and shared her love for music by singing on the choir. She always gave counsel on securing your place in heaven. During her brief illness, she continued to share her testimony.

We cherish the memories of her infectious laughter, her sense of fun, and her zest for life.

She is survived by her husband Leo; children Sean aka Pete; Anthony aka Junior; Ryan (A man); grandchild Zorenzzo; siblings Dorna, Ralford, Carol, Robert,  Colin and Doreen; her uncle Leslie; aunts; cousins;  and their families, and her very dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted in her memory towards the building fund for the House of Praise Tabernacle.  

In honour of Ena's last request, all guests are asked to wear royal blue and/or pink for the service.
