George was such a supportive friend to me. All these years he’s encouraged me to be become my greatest self & taught me about God. He helped me through school, taught me how to study & was there for me when I needed a friend. I will forever miss George & will be heartbroken over what happened. I wish I was there through the last few months of his time earthside.

I wish to send my deepest condolences the Brown family at the passing of Winford. I never got to.know Big George personally but l do remember him vividly from our basketball days. He was a fixture on Lawrence Heights teams and l played on the Kingston Galloway team from Scarborough. We had some legendary games against each other. I always admired his physique and skill on tge court, he was an intimidating presence. l also respected the way he conducted himself of the court. I am happy to hear that he was such an inspirational figure in the community. It takes a real man to devote his time , energy and money to the next generation. I know you are all proud of him for that. Sadly like many of our blessed brothers they have left us too soon.i pray that the youth whose lives he has touch will continue his legacy and bring honour to his name. May you be comforted knowing that one day, on resurrection morning, you will be reunited with Big George and all your other loved ones who have passed on. It will be a family reunion that will last for eternity. Until then let the peace, hope and love of God fill your heart as you faithfully press on.

Our Deepest condolences to the Family of George Brown aka Big George.
There was something always comforting about Big George and he was such a Very Nice Man. He was more then his physical appearance. BG was a deep thinker and we spent many hours talking about spiritual matters. Big George was also a great business man and was very knowledgeable in many areas of business and so much more.
He will be missed dearly.
I know we are being selfish and I know he is with the Lord but we're losing a Good Soldier.

Big George was Lawrence Heights! He embodied the struggle, the strength, passion, resilience, and the love that exists in deep rooted black communities. He is instrumental in the origins of the weight room at Lawrence Heights Community Centre. I had the pleasure of knowing him for 13+ years. When I worked at Lawrence Heights Community Centre, we often talked about what community meant to him. I had a great deal of respect for him as a foundation man in Lawrence Heights. I have never seen anyone put as much care and effort into crafting their physique, as he did. He would spend hours at a time working out, and that alone had you believing that he would always be the last man standing. He said to me on a occasion, that the people, with a huge emphasis on "the children", were under his protection in that building. When I heard he had passed, it brought the reality of this life crashing down! You can spend your life building a stature that impresses, intimidates, and is admired, but only God, is almighty and we must all fall one day, to this thing called life. I send blessings to you my brother, as you start the next chapter on your journey in the spiritual. May God bless and hold you close to him and may your family find peace and solace in knowing that you left a great legacy behind, but that your biggest and brightest works are now in Heaven, serving the Lord.
My condolences to your family and friends!

Our deepest condolences to the Brown family on the loss of Big George. He was a true 'gentle giant'- kind, considerate and helpful. The kids would always love when he came to visit as he would always buy them ice cream from the truck when it came around.
We hope the Brown family takes comfort in the good memories they shared together over the years. We know that God will provide you all with comfort to enduring this difficult time (Rev 21:3,4)

Sincere condolences to the Brown family. George was always such a pleasure to be around. He was a gentleman and a big brother to me, even though he didn't know me well when my family first moved into the Lawrence Heights community. I hadn't seen George in many many years, so this news came as quite a shock. May he rest in heavenly peace and know the impact he had on my life. I am forever grateful for having known him. God bless.
