My deepest condolences to the family and friends of a beautiful woman, inside and out, Shanel Dawkins. Shanel and Simone were my best friends back in elementary school at Sacred Heart. I remember the days when we sang, danced, laughed and rode our bikes for hours. We walked to and from school together with Simone and my sisters. You were there for me anytime I needed you and I felt empty when we had to move away.
I didnt know you as an adult but from the girl I knew in the past, Im sure you were a fantastic mother, sister, daughter and friend. My heart broke when I heard of your passing and I hope you could forgive me for not being able to attend your service today. You left behind many people who love and adore you. Shanel you will be truly missed and my deepest condolences to your beautiful family.

I’m so sorry that I could not attend this celebration of life today. I hope the Dawkins family will forgive my absence in their time of grieving. Shanel always greeted me with a smile and was a very genuine and caring person. She was always soft spoken and had a very positive and uplifting aura around her. I’m truly heartbroken to learn that she has passed away.
I have known Shanel and the Dawkins family since they lived on Berkshire in the 90s, and we all attended Sacred Heart elementary school together, with my sister Charlene. I will never forget Shanel, or the person she was. May God rest her soul and ease the grief of her family members through this time.
Again I hope the Dawkins family will forgive me for being absent today but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all!
May God carry Shanel home in the arms of the angels, and may her sweet soul rest in peace.

Thank you Shanel for being an amazing friend to both me and my sisters back in elementary school. I always loved your strong and happy character back then. I wish I knew you growing up into an adult.
My deepest condolences to your entire family at this moment and hope you all can find support and strength in each other.
Thanks Shanel for all those fun memories we shared in heart lake with the banana boat bike seats, building snowmen, walking to get snacks from the convenience store, playing games around the crescent, and listening to music on your driveway. Shanel you are greatly missed.
