Obituary of Sherneth May Shannon

In memory of Sherneth May Shannon (nee Cranston)  1942 - 2023 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a mother and wife.  Sherneth May Shannon passed away peacefully at home on October 27^th 2023 surrounded by her daughter Andrea and husband Lyton, who greatly mourn her loss.  She was daughter of the late great  Esperta.  She was sister to Margaret, and beloved Aunty to Tosha, Renae, Camille, Ernell and Kevin and all of her much loved extended family.  Her journey in life was filled with many joys and pastimes.  There wasn’t a recipe that she could not conquer and adapt to her own taste with delicious results.  There wasn’t a Christmas decoration that she could say “no” to.  She tended a beautiful flower garden, grew vegetables and many fruit trees in her yard. She did everything with a great sense of pride.  She was a mother and grandmother of many cats and dogs including Jemma and Daisy.  She was of strong spirit and great strength, if she liked you then she really liked you, was fiercely loyal and a little bit vain.  She believed in leading a healthy lifestyle, but she also believed more so in always “looking gooood”.  We will miss her laughter, energy and mischievous ways.  The Blue Jays have lost an ardent fan!  Let all of our wonderful memories of her help us to abide her loss.  Rest peacefully now Mom and you will be reunited in glory with all those who have gone before.     

Our family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses, caregivers and PSWs who visited our home to support us in her care.

A private service for family and close friends will be held.
