The year was 1978 Manzan and his family moved into our Paisley community.They were our immediate neigbours. Not long after a great friendship developed.Yes we had our childhood differences but it didn't lasst for long before we were good buddies again.Manzan was the speaker of the house he was full of jokes and comical expressions.He would tend to his father's cows by riding on his donkey.His legs were so long they almost touched the ground while he was on the donkeys back. Club meetings was our social meeting place with Sal, Patrick Loxley Deer,Bunue Brown Lennox, Hector Dower,Henry Mullings Milo,Dorrette Walker Pups just to name a few,We had clean fun, I guess he was instrumental in my father' letting us out to club meetings,Our father was very strict but he trusted Manzan to take care of us,And that he did,Yes because of the same club meeting I happened to marry my long time club member which will last for a lifetime.through God's grace, We would run several boats at nights while our parents were all gone to bed.Manzan would refer to Dower as being 'very lazy so he should not get the same amount of food whenthe boat landed.We would then clean up everything before daybreak in as much not to leave a trace to give away our deeds we were doing at nightfall. As the years go by time changes Manzan and his family then moved to Hazard in September of1988 but the relationship did not change. We would do our regular Sunday evening visits from time to time.We were truly bonded by love Until......... Today as I reflect on those good ole days I want to remember Manzan as that strong , vibrant and energetic youngman Go in peace my friend To Maxine, Joy,Kay and Charm I say be of good courage I share in your loss and may God grant you peace at this time when you need him most.I know this is a hard one to swallow.Until then Manzan may the peace of God be with you as you soar to worlds unknown.
