Aunt Joyce, sleep well. Thank you for your service to community and the wellbeing of children. Joyce was one of the 1st to respond to an appeal for scholarships to help students of Allman Town Primary School in Jamaica a few years ago. She and Edith banded together and made donations in cash and kind on their visit to the school. She always had a heart for educational advancement. Thank you Aunt Joyce. Your investments in our future continue to yield good fruit. From the Smith, Gray-Sandiford and Allman Town Primary School Family.

Family of Joyce, my condolences to you on her passing. I met Joyce at the Congress for Black Women Mississauga chapter in the late 1990's. She soon became one of my mentors as a young black woman. Her love and dedication to improving the wellbeing of women and especially the black family in a mosaic community has taught me lessons for giving to others and myself. Journey on. May the blessings be. Jennifer H

I am forever thankful for the love, encouragement, and support that Miss Joyce gave to me throughout the years. She was from the same area in Saint James, Barbados, where my father was from, and I'm glad to have gotten the chance to get to know Miss Joyce through the Congress of Black Women of Canada Mississauga chapter. I enjoyed the time we spent chatting, and I treasure the time I spent giving Miss Joyce adult beginner piano and sometimes vocal lessons. I also appreciate all of the invitations Miss Joyce extended to me to take part in events at the CBW Mississauga chapter. I'm blessed to have known her. I am very sad that Miss Joyce is not here with us, but I know that we'll meet again.

Joyce was a light that helped many to find their lost way home. She stood up for many and with many. We took many a journey together that resulted in great community development and engagement. No matter the weather, she never said no to backing me up when there is someone in need.
I miss you my friend and God speed. It brakes my heart to see you go.
Deep condolences to her children and grandchildren. Condolences to her family
Condolences to the Congress of Black Women for loosing a sister

One of my favorite definitions of family: The people you're willing to find a chair for when there are no more seats left at the table. I'm now drawn back to childhood memories of visiting Aunt Sonia around Chalkfarm. There were so many kids in one apartment playing games, yet somehow the adults were always louder, and always looked like they were having more of a good time. Haha. It was clear from young days how much you meant to the family. I haven't seen you in years, but the love and respect was and is always there. Rest in power Joyce.

To the Calendar family, it is with much difficulty I grieve the unexpected passing of my special dear friend and college "JC". A strong determined woman of stamina and fortitude kindness and compassion. "JC" you have run the race and left an outstanding legacy of family friends and public service. You were blessed and though you are not here physically your spirit lives on. Rest in peace "Mels" and family.

When people think of soul mates, they often think in terms of romantic love; but when a spirit calls to someone and the message is received in the way it was for (Aunt) Joyce and Mommy (Sonia Noble), there's no other description but spiritual sisters...soul mates. I was blessed with Aunt Joyce as my Godmother.
Aunt Joyce! I came to help you recover. I came to do what I could to help you heal. Instead I arrived to help send you home (You look regal by the way).
You took your role seriously, thank you. My life as well as my husband's and our girls lives are richer because of your influence. I feel I've lived up to the honour of 'Goddaughter' because of the values you helped to instill in me all through life. I will miss every blurred picture we took, every video call with just your forehead or the ceiling, every laugh out loud, and every "I love you Ms. Ta" to end our chats.
Love you Always Auntie. Sleep in Power.

So saddened to hear of Joyce's untimely passing. My deepest condolences to Claude, family and friends. My most recent contact with Joyce was on February 8. I never could have imagined this outcome. She always adressed me as 'my sister' and i will always remember that. Her contributions to The Barbados Nurses Assoc. (Toronto) will always be remembered and she will be greatly missed. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace and rise in glory.

I will greatly miss Joycelyn and the talks we had over the phone. In my last conversation with her I told her that I have 6 grandchildren, she wrote back to me and said I can have my own cricket team! This summer I was going to get out the cricket bats and balls and send a picture to her, but now I can’t; gone to soon. Condolences to the family Uncle Michael and Jean Goodridge
