Obituary of Claude Anthony Barnes

The family of Claude Barnes (affectionately known as Bill and Uncle Bill) sadly announces his unexpected passing away in Mississauga on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the age of 58.

Claude was the beloved husband of Pauline Young-Barnes; cherished father of Nigel Chase, Claude Terrell Lemond and his wife Tasha, Joseph Chase, Louissa Barnes and Anthony Barnes; loving Grandpa of Claude Jr, Cajmere, Camariyah, Calib, Chaz, Claudya, Javon, Malina and Peithon; dear brother of Christine MBA and her husband Calvin, Robert Dixon and his wife Sophia, Hyacinthe Dixon, Alva Dixon and his wife Lisa; dear nephew of Ansel Scarlett, Joyceline Hemmings, Delores Gallimore and many other aunts and uncles.  Predeceased by his loving grandmother Rachel Scarlett (Miss Lou); parents: Phyllis Scarlett and Ashley Barnes; and brother Constantine Dixon.

He was a loving uncle, cousin and a dear and adored friend to many.

Claude loved greatly and is greatly loved.  He had a great sense of humor, was friendly, known for his smile, knew a little bit of everything, had a curious mind and spirit and was always helping others in whichever way he could.   Psalm 23 was one of Claude’s favorite Psalms which he recommended reading or reciting every day.   Although he has gone to rest, this advice is still helping us at this time.

The family is very thankful and appreciative for the compassion, love, prayers and support that is being received during this difficult time.  The family appreciates all the work and effort that was done by the doctors, nurses, paramedics, officers, and others that helped on the morning of Feb 3, 2022.

Claude, we love you and miss you.  Rest in Peace.

Capacity limits for indoor.  Guests are asked to ensure social distancing of 2 metres (6 ft.), as well, masks and/or face shields must always be worn while inside the facility.  You will not be required to provide proof of vaccination when attending funeral visitations and services. 

VISITING THE FUNERAL CENTRE:

Upon entry to the building, guests must:

• Wear mandatory face shields and/or face masks.
• Self-assess using the COVID signage at the entrance.

Restrictions that will remain in place are until March 1, 2022.

1. Masks and/or face coverings are required. 
2. Physical distancing of 2 metres (6 ft.) between people.
3. 150 ppl maximum in the chapel.
