Avril, or aunty Avril I fondly called her was a loving and thoughtful woman. Who shared her home and so much more with myself and now deceased mother. You will always have a special place on my heart and memory. It is indeed a beautiful soul that God has called home, though I mourn your passing I know you are Resting in Peace on the ever lasting arm of the almighty. To start, I want to write an open letter to my beloved grandma I’ve so recently lost. So here we go. I don’t really know how to start this letter, other than to tell you that I love and I miss you so so much. I really can’t believe that you’re gone. I have been struggling with the fact that you’re gone and it’s taken some time to really soak in. I’m going to miss your laugh, your hugs, your stories, and most of all, you. It’s not fair that you’re gone. It’s not fair that a woman that was as amazing as you was taken from this world.I knew writing this letter was going to be hard but I didn’t quite realize how hard. There is so much I want to share with you and tell you about that I haven’t been able to recently because you’ve moved so far away, . An entire ocean away. I didn’t get to see you in your last days and that is something I so strongly regret. I just hope that you knew that I love you so much. You are such an important role model to me and have had such a strong impact on my life. You taught me so much. I have so many wonderful memories of you…It’s just so hard to think about never seeing you again. It’s so hard to think that I’ll never hear your voice again. You were one of the strongest women I have ever met and will ever meet. You impacted my life in ways I don’t think you realized. You taught me so much about love and family and cherishing the past and memories of those we’ve lost.. Thank you, Grandma. For your love, your wisdom, your infinite stories of our family. Thank you for teaching me so much and loving me like you did. You will absolutely always be in my heart . Nurse George as I would call her, was like my second mother and a grandmother to my kids, I could have spoken to her on any matter either personal or work related, she would listen and advice accordingly and never fails to let me know when I am wrong, she was a good woman and will be miss by many. To her children, grandchildren relatives and many friends, my condolences.
