“”Dear Families
I know the lost of our beloved is very painful, but I encourage you all to be encouraged for you are not alone in this process. We all now have to trust in the Lord even when we do not understand why. I do understand the feeling of inadequacy, which causes us to ask ourselves ‘could I have done more?’ In many cases, you all have done the best humanly possibly but at he end of the day, our God is still in control. Psalm 34 :18 says, “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and save such as be of a contrite spirit.” Also, in Psalms 147:3 it says, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Therefore, my encouragement to you is, when life becomes overbearing just remember you all can be real with God and tell him all about your pain and He’s right there to hold you in His arms and comfort you. Grieve if you must but not ignorantly as if you don’t have the Lord on your side. The Bible says in Isaiah 26:3 “thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

Vashon, your journey on earth came with it's challenges and you have left us way too soon. I pray that you have found rest in the bosom of your heavenly father. I now see you as an angel - a glorious being appointed to watch over your mamma. My memory of Vashon was meeting him at our weekly Sunday morning Church service in which he attended along with his mother Sis Dean, Grandma Ellie and other family members. I was led to pray for Vashon that Sunday and he said it was ok and at the end he said thank you. After church services was ended, I had another opportunity to speak to Vashon again. Thank him for coming and reminded him to come back again. During my conversation with Vashon, I observed he was very polite, warm and caring.
When I heard of his sudden passing my heart ached, my heart cried because I too have a young son. No one will ever under the pain of losing a loved one especially your own son.
So happy I had to opportunity to met Vashon even though it was only once.
May your soul rest in peace(RIP) Vashon

Vashon was a loving, protecting and caring person. I remember when he was small every weekend he told his mom "I want to go to Grandma" and I would take him to Church every Sunday. He always told me "Grandma, I love you but remember I am the man in the house" with a smile. Vashon, I love you, you will not be forgotten.
