Obituary of Jasim Bird

On the afternoon of May 21, 2026, Jasim Bird, a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University and a medal winning triathlon athlete, suddenly passed away of congenital heart disease.
His thirty-three years of life are celebrated by his loving family and many friends.
Jasim will forever be the beloved son of Nicola Bird (née Gonsalves) and stepson of Lemuel Suraleigh.
He is the treasured nephew of Anthony and Gayle Gonsalves; loving grandson of Ena, known as Smokie; and the irreplaceable friend of Jaigan, Mitchell, Simeon, Jesse, Ben, Matthew, Ian and many others. Jasim last resided in Mississauga with Jim, Lorrie and Jamilla Arrindell.
Members of the Arrindell, Gonsalves and Suraleigh families and friends in Antigua, Canada and beyond will forever love and cherish him. His wings may have carried him onward, but his spirit remains with us.
