In Loving Memory of Lloyd George Young

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd George Young, affectionately known to many as "Cawk" or "Priest."

Born and raised in Vere, Clarendon, Jamaica, Lloyd was a man who remained true to himself. He was a man of few words, yet those who knew him will remember his humor, candid nature, and the unique presence he brought into every room.

Lloyd was a skilled welder by trade and worked for many years with the National Water Commission (NWC) in Jamaica. Through his work, he contributed to his community and earned the respect of many who knew him. After migrating to Canada, he began a new chapter of his life as a truck driver, a profession he carried out with dedication and determination.  Beyond his work, Lloyd had a deep passion for music. Music was one of the great joys of his life, and he was talented in playing several musical instruments. Whether through listening, playing, or sharing music with others, it remained a meaningful part of who he was and brought enjoyment to those around him.

He is survived by his children: Juilet, Antoinette, Denise, Simone, Kesha, Garfield, Delroy, Peter, Micheala, and Kadeem; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters; and a circle of relatives and friends who will remember him in their own special way.  As we reflect on Lloyd's life, we give thanks for the memories shared, the lessons learned, and the mark he left on those whose paths crossed his. May he rest in peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
