Michael Altimont Fenton

Michael Altimont Fenton, loving husband to Linda Fenton of 39 years, died peacefully, Saturday May 9^th, 2026 at Humber Regional Hospital, Toronto, ON, Canada. 

Mike, as he was affectionately known, was born in Hertford, Westmoreland, Jamaica, April 1957, to parents James Michael and Rebecca Ann Fenton, 9^th of 12 children.  

Mike was a proud and devoted father to his three sons; Michael Jr., Anthony and ShawnMichael. Most recently, he became grandpa to Shawn’s newly born daughter Evangeline. Before her birth, he often proclaimed how much he loved her, albeit, having not yet seen her. Upon her birth, she became the apple of his eyes. 

Prior to migrating to Canada, from his middle adolescence years, Mike was the unofficial tutor of the community. So skillful he was, in Math and English, that many sought help from him in their preparation to sit the CSEC (Caribbean Secondary Examination Certificate). It was this role that propelled him to teaching, which he did for two years. 

Along with his brother James, Mike was owner, operator of Fenton Reliable Shipping. A devoted man of God, he worshipped at Bramalea Gospel Assembly. Mike’s upstanding character, faith and walk with Christ, earned him loyalty and respect from his family, friends, customers and clients. Mike was a giver and he did so, often without forethought. In all things, Mike placed God first and his unwavering faith and belief in Jesus Christ gives us solace that he is now resting with Christ.  

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; James and Rebecca.
