Obituary of Livingstone Dacosta Wood

Sunrise: September 13th, 1942 - Sunset: March 12th, 2026

Livingstone Wood (Livy) was born in Storey Gap, St. Michael Barbados. He was the son of (late) Germaine Wood and (late) Lewis Broomes. As a child, he attended Buxton Boys Elementary School where he completed his studies. 

He became one of the well-known carpenters in Barbados. He was very devoted to his job making sure his projects were completed before taking on other projects.  At the age of 19, he built his parents’ home, his own home and my Grandparent’s home as well. 

In 1973, he decided to immigrate to Canada to make a better life for himself. His first job was with Dominion Gasket as a Stock Room Keeper. He later became a Shipper\Receiver with several other Companies. 

In 2008, he retired from Clifton Company as a Shipper/Receiver. During his retirement years he took on odd jobs in the carpentry which he loved. Livingstone had many interests in life, he loved fashion, especially shoes and hats, cars and games of Dominos. He was a member of the Men’s Domino Club which he looked forward to every Friday night. He also loved to dance, and he had his own unique way of dancing, always with a smile on his face. His strong belief of Christianity made him person a who would always help people through their difficult times.  

Livingstone leaves behind his daughters- Cheryl and Merlyn Harris. His son-Krik Cox, Grandson-Rashad Harris, Great- Granddaughter – Azariyah Harris. Sisters – Pastie Green and Wendy Sealy Brothers- Parker and Crighton Alleyne.  Stepdaughter – Gail Buckley, Stepsons – Trevor Wood and Michael Buckley. Son-In -Law- Wayne Harris and other family members Robert Rouse and Veda Tenn.  Close friends to Monica, Cameron, Roy, David and Kevin and many more.
