Obituary of Anthony Alexander Thompson

August 8, 1963 – January 24, 2026

Anthony Thompson was born on August 8, 1963, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Ann Brown-Crooks and Cebert Thompson. His family moved to Canada when he was a teenager, and Canada became his home.

Anthony passed away peacefully at home on January 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

A lifelong lover of flying, Anthony achieved both his private and commercial pilot licenses and was a proud member of UPN, the Urban Pilots Network. Being in the air was one of his greatest joys. He also had a deep love for motorcycling and was a proud member of the bike group WEBZ, where he formed strong friendships and embraced the freedom of the open road.

Professionally, Anthony devoted nearly thirty years of service to the City of Mississauga. He was known and respected for his strong work ethic, reliability, and unwavering commitment.

Anthony was predeceased by his brother, Evan

Anthony is survived by his parents, Ann Brown-Crooks and Cebert Thompson; his wife, Mitzie; his children, Antoinette and her husband David, Anthony Jr and his wife JayJay, Shauna, and Tarell; and his cherished granddaughter, Ayana. He is also survived by his brothers, Donovan, Roger, and James; his sisters, Carol, Andrea, and Monique; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives he touched deeply.

Above all, Anthony’s greatest pride and joy was his family, especially his children and granddaughter, who were the center of his world.

Anthony will be remembered for his adventurous spirit and the meaningful connections he built throughout his life. His presence, kindness, and passion will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
