On Sunday, November 2, 2025, Verl Onica Williams, passed away peacefully in Toronto, Ontario at the age of 77.

Born in Mitchell Town, Clarendon, Jamaica to the late Kesia Williams and Arthur Williams, Verl built a life defined by faith, warmth, and quiet strength. She served faithfully as a Deaconess at Mount Ephraim Zion Hill Tabernacle, a role that reflected her deep commitment to her church and community. A lover of the colour lavender, Verl carried a soft calming spirit that touched everyone she met.

Verl was known for her generosity, always opening her home and her heart to many throughout her life. Her home was a place people returned to. Family, friends, and neighbours found warmth there. She welcomed everyone with kindness, and over the years her home became a gathering place where stories were shared and comfort was found.

She is lovingly remembered as the devoted mother of Dave and Wayne (Mary), and cherished grandmother to Mya, Jesiah, and Taya. Verl is also survived by her siblings Sybil, Doreen (Rupert), Gerald (Lorna), and Althea, and predeceased by Vadney, Denzil, Hermina, and Pansy. She will also be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Verl was prayed over as she passed, wrapped in the same peace and love she spent her life giving. Her final moments were gentle, held in faith and surrounded by love.

 She will be deeply missed. The absence of her voice, her kindness, and her steady, gentle presence will be felt in countless small and tender ways. Yet her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, her friends, her church community, and in all the lives she touched with her faith and love.
