Good morning, all
This is Joy Delores Allen-Gooden.
Palsetta was my friend for over 50 years. Our house was very close in the same community. Tavern Hill
We worshiped at the Mount Nebo Baptist Church, where we formed a trio with Hyacinth (Tiny) Palsetta and me Joy, we sang for many years as teenagers in that Church. She's always the life of the party. Very creative in the art of crocheting, kind, pleasant, fun loving, caring, thoughtful, brilliant and happy. We shared many good times, precious moments together that will take too to write. Then she left for Canada which broke off a piece of me but we keep the communication through letters and later by phone. She's the one that used this quote to me.' A friend in need is a friend indeed ' the friendship we shared through thick and thin l will always cherished. I pray that God will continue to comfort all of us as we grief the loss of this Unique woman. Sleep Polly dear, hoping to see you in the earth made new. When Jesus come for His children. Let us live so we can hear the well done. From our Heavenly Father.
So I say condolences to her family members that you stick to each other and take comfort in God. My prayers and Love to you all.
Her friend Joy.

My condolences to her family and friends. What a lovely photo! I'm acquainted with her niece, Ms N. Hamilton. It would seem this family is very blessed with hardworking and dedicated women. Keep these remarkable traits shining in memory of your dear loved one. May the peace that Jesus brings rest with you all.

My condolenses to her family and friends. I did not know her, but her sister Yvonne, from the UK, is a friend. May Palsetta's soul fly high with the angels, discovering who she truly was in the eyes of God. May her joy know no bounds in reuiniting with her creator, through Christ.

Polly, as she was called by her friends and classmates at the Jamaica School of Agriculture (JSA), was a truly tenacious, ambitious, hard working and gentle spirit. She always had a smile and ready with a helping hand. RIP my sister/friend! To the family my deepest condolences on behalf of the Ole Farmers Association North America (OFANA)

MY UNIQUE JOY AND PRIDE...PALSETTA!
While living at Mt.Nebo, Guys Hill, I met Palsetta.
Most evenings on my way from work, I'd see her, seated on the front steps of her house crocheting.
After several months, I decided to stop and have a brief chat with her.
Today, I can truly say that I am extremely happy that I did!
Palsetta quickly got orders for her ▪︎Unique
Crocheted White Tabletop Sets, decked with lovely Red-tailed Doves▪︎from my friends 'local and foreign'. This soon became her steady source of income!
Later she got baptized at Mt.Nebo Baptist, made new friends and settled happily with the Young People there. While working as a Baby Sister, in Guys Hill, she quickly enrolled in Evening Classes at the nearby Secondary School and soon passed Three High School Subjects gaining Credit in English. Armed with that qualification, she gained entrance to the then, renowned Jamaica School of Agriculture, a Residential College.
At the end of her first successful year, that established College closed, giving way to two similar such Colleges, poised at the two ends of the island and with then. unaffordable fees. That dealt a harsh blow to Palsetta's hopes. However, given her Christian Faith and with my guidance as her newly 'Adopted Mother'; Palsetta sought other career opportunities. That very year, Canada opened its doors to Semi-skilled FEMALE WORKERS from Jamaica! She applied in faith and within that New Academic Year, Palsetta flew to Canada to work with a Family, caring their young children; together with the Canadian Government's mandated opportunity to register and attend School twice per week.
This indeed, was Palsetta's DREAM Come TRUE!
For her and her indomitable spirit, the SKY became her Limit! She never looked Back!
Today, as A Mother during her Critical Career Years; I can now legitimately and freely, share "The Best of Palsetta's Story!"
She CAME, She SAW, She SEIZED the opportunity and SHE CONQUERED!
For everyone reading Palsetta's Story; my advice to you is THIS:
"Never Give Up, 'Tis the secret of GLORY! Nothing so sweet, can Philosophy Teach!" No matter the Hovering Dark Storm Clouds nor the Fierce Raging. Ugly Winds with 'Melissa-Hurricane Type Threats'; HOLD ON, TRUST THE LORD, OUR ETERNAL REFUGE AND STRENGTH.
Palsetta, TODAY, in Bidding YOU FAREWELL;
I equate you to The Bible's Old Testament QUEEN ESTHER! You shamelessly PICKED the Crocheted CORN RESIDUE, in the Mountains of Guys Hill; ACHIEVED your goals while PROVIDING for every family member whom you left behind! I CONGRATULATE YOU because YOU DID IT, WITH CHARM, GRACE and HUMILITY! Sadly, we lost touch; but May Your Beautiful Soul and Spirit.
REST IN PEACE!
