Obituary of Patrick Addo-Kessie

It is with deep love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Mr. Patrick Addo-Kessie Sr., affectionately known as Akwasi Amankwah or “Paddy Bones.”

Born in Ashtown, Kumasi, Ghana, Patrick built a life marked by strength, compassion, and connection. After moving to Canada with his sister, he created a beautiful family with his beloved wife, Mrs. Edith Addo-Kessie (Yaa Serwah), and together they raised three devoted sons — Derek, Richard, and Patrick Jr. His pride and joy extended to his five grandchildren, who brought endless joy into his later years.

Patrick was the glue that held his family together — a man whose presence was felt through his intelligence, laughter, honesty, struggles and wisdom. He was that key family member everyone could depend on to challenge them; a the one who reminded you of right from wrong, greeted you with warmth, and made you feel seen and valued. It truly took a village to support Patrick through his journey, and in turn, he became that village for others — uniting family and friends through his care and spirit.

A realist with a playful heart, Patrick was loved by many — not only his family but his peers, coworkers, and even his children’s friends, whom he treated as his own. His sincerity and kindness left lasting imprints on everyone he encountered.

Though his physical journey ended on October 6, 2025, his memory lives on in the love he gave and the lives he touched. Patrick’s life reminds us that strength is found in unity, faith, and love — the very qualities he embodied until his final breath.

We thank God for his life and take comfort knowing his soul rests peacefully in His eternal care.*
