Obituary of Delroy Swaby

In Loving Memory of Delroy Swaby,

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Delroy Adolphus Swaby on June 21, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family.

Born on February 23, 1946 in Kingston, Jamaica to Vioris Amanda Britton and Rudolph Adolphus Swaby, Delroy was known in his Denham Town community for his sharp skills and hustle mentality, being crowned the King of card and dice games. He was a protector of his little sister, Barbara, while their parents were out working all day.

Delory was the embodiment of hard work, dedication and wisdom. He spent many years driving taxis in Canada just to make ends meet for his family. Delroy knew Toronto like the back of his hand and always had a new story to tell after working a night shift. 

His love of horses was always a unique passion of his. He started out cleaning horses' stables and made his way up to becoming a hot walker and then becoming a horse trainer. His favorite weekend hang out spot quickly became the Woodbine Racetrack. 

Delroy was the heart of his home—a man full of life, whose joy came from the simple moments spent with those he loved most. His warmth, generosity, and spirited nature touched everyone who knew him.

Delroy is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Dianne; his children Junior, George, Christopher, Benjamin, Belinda, Aliesha, Azeleo and Nefretiri; his grandchildren, sister, nieces, and nephew, all of whom will carry his memory forward with pride and affection.

A true family man, Delroy’s presence was a gift, and his absence will be deeply felt. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
