Obituary of Ena Hope Grant

In loving memory of Ena Hope Grant, affectionately known as Girlie, whose radiant spirit illuminated our lives from November 3, 1956, to June 10, 2025. Girlie was not just a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and friend; she was a vibrant beacon of joy and laughter, the life of every gathering she graced.
Born in the picturesque town of Cambridge, St. James, Jamaica, Girlie embodied grace, kindness, and an infectious warmth that left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path.
Nurtured in a close-knit family, Girlie was instilled with the values of compassion, integrity, and perseverance. Her boundless generosity and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on her community, reminding us all of the beauty of human connection.
Girlie was a devoted mother and grandmother, finding immeasurable joy in each precious moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Whether tending to her garden, preparing delicious meals for her grandchildren, or sharing stories filled with laughter, Girlie embraced the simple pleasures of life. Her passion for music shone through as she filled her days with the uplifting songs that inspired her soul and those around her.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Girlie, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy of music, love, kindness, and compassion serves as a guiding light, inspiring us to carry forward her values and teachings.
Girlie is survived by her loving family, including her son, Sheldon (Raymond Wright); sisters, Cherry, Jean and Delores Grant; and grandchildren, Keon, Kai, Jehucal, Athalia, and Jedidiah, along with a host of nieces, nephews and loyal friends who will cherish her memory.
As we gather to celebrate Girlie’s remarkable life, let us find solace in the knowledge that she is at peace, embraced by the everlasting love of her heavenly Father. Although Girlie’s earthly journey has come to a close, her spirit will live on in our hearts and in the stories we share, a testament to the enduring power of love that knows no boundaries, even beyond mortality.
