Dear Barrett family and friends, my deepest condolences to you all. Brendts passing has not just been a shock to the system but has left a huge hole in our hearts. Brendt had a huge heart and expressed love and positivity with all. He was a deep thinker and I was always blown away by his ancient knowledge! I learnt so much from him. My heart is so heavy knowing I won’t be there to say goodbye, but i know he will always be with me. Brendt, you really were one of the best—kind, real and full of life. You had this way of making people feel seen and I’ll cherish every memory we shared together. To Brendt’s family and friends, I’m holding you all in my heart. I know how much he meant to us and his light will never fade. Rest easy, my friend. Love you B!

My sincere condolences go out to Mrs. Barrett, Tony, Dave, family and friends, I am so sorry for you loss. I remember meeting a very young Brent many years ago. He was such a bright light with a beautiful smile. Rest in eternal peace.

It doesn't seem real that you're gone B, and I'm still at a loss for words. I'm grateful for our time together - the jokes, the foolery, the tough love, the inspiration. Rest in peace brother. We were all very saddened to hear about Coach B! Coach B was our Strength & Conditioning Coach last year. He really did have a gift helping young athletes reach their physical goals. Brendt was the most encouraging person I ever knew, and I am happy that I got to tell him that personally, on a number of occasions. He was a private guy who didn't talk much about himself so when he did, you knew how important it was to him: first and foremost his daughter, his brothers and your recent trips and gatherings. We talked about his business and I could see how training people, especially young people, was a passion. I always was so glad to be in Brendt's presence, as there was a majesty about it combined with his big heart. He loved the people he had in his life. I'm honoured to have had him as a friend and treasure how he taught me that true friends can share those values that are at our core. He clearly knew it was possible and valued it in our friendship. For that, he is valued to me and will remain close to my heart. I will deeply miss you, Brendt. I do already!!

I am so sorry to hear of the death of my Cousin Brendt. I was lucky enough to meet him on a visit to Canada, twenty years ago. He left a really positive impression on me. I remember how kind he was to his younger second cousin, my daughter Emily, and his bright outward looking nature. Kevin, Emily and I send our love to the family at this really challenging time. May there be Peace and love in your hearts, and, in time, joy in his memory in the days, months and years to come x

From Spending our middle School trip together in Quebec to house party at my house. Singing and just being close, Brendt was always there with me during middle school and some of high school and many many memories. He was caring and always had a big smile. Fast forward to my 30s when I was working out at the gym and this guy came and put his hand on my shoulder turned around and it was him big smile and all. We grow apart and went our separate ways in life but in the times we did talk it was like we talked yesterday. He will greatly be missed and the only regret I have is not staying closer in touch with him. Singing in the Heavens now and we will meet again. My Sixteen surprise birthday party picture attached
