We were so pained to hear of Marsha's passing and cannot fathom the pain you all as a family are feeling. Attending her funeral was healing to see the great legacy she leaves behind in her family and especially her beautiful daughter. The yellow colors demonstrated the ray of sunshine she is in all our lives. Rest in peace my sis until we see you with the greatest Son ligh, Jesus the Son of righteousness. It wont be long. My deepest condolences to Rianna, the Birkett family and extended family members. I first met Marsha during our Pathfinder years at TWest and Scarborough respectively. I am happy we were able to reconnected at Camp Frenda's Adventurer family camp a few years ago. As a fellow educator, l always admired , her professionalism, dedication and love for her job and the students. She was a kind, caring and compassionate. God blessed her with many gifts and she tiredlessly used them all in the service of the Lord.

Dear Gregg, Colleen and the entire Birkett family, please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of your beautiful, beloved Marsha. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Marsha and I skipped church once to just fellowship together in the choir room at Toronto West Church, and whenever we met, we laughed and embraced each other warmly. Her beaming smile always lit up my day. We laughed and thanked God as we remembered how, during a school trip, she found my daughter Tessa's glasses in the forest after a prayer for help.
Marsha will always be in our hearts.
With love, from Sis Ross & family.

Marsha was a special angel sent by God. She made everyone she befriended feel special. She was kind, thoughtful and compassionate. I will miss Marsha but I know her light shines on in Rianna.

To the Birkett's, the extended family and the Harvie and TWest crew.
We grew up at a special time at Harvie from the late 70's to the end of the 90's. All of us children, teens and young adults at that time period shared a unique bond. We had our separate group of friends for sure, we also had our disagreements, but there was/is a collective bond. Marsha was a constant part of that bond; from playing in the band, to teaching SS class, to singing in the NLS, to resurrecting Pathfinders, to laughing uncontrollably, her absence will be noticed.
My condolences in a special way to Ron, Karen, Coleen, Greg, Xavier, Richard, Nalia, Isaiah and of course, Rianna. A mother's love never dies. May God's peace bring you comfort as you make it through this trying time.

To the most wonderful woman in the world Marsha Birkett. Death cannot touch the fond memories I have of your warm loving caring friendship. I loved you Marsha as a daughter and a sister in Christ. There’s no one in this world like you. You are a gem and will be greatly missed. I will never forget the great times we had together. I had the pleasure of working with you in Children’s ministry and Vacation Bible School. Everything became easier when you were
Present. Your smile and laughter was contagious. Death leaves a heartache, no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Marsha you will be in our hearts and memories forever. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:11

My utmost respects to all of the Birkett Family, immediate and distant. I had the absolute honour and pleasure of getting to know Marsha as both a coworker and most importantly, a person. I found her to be very inspirational both on a professional and personal level, and a beacon of light from whom I learned a lot as both a teacher and a person. I can only imagine others would rightfully attest to her truly "one-in-a-million" unique infectious personality, heart and influence. May Marsha's light live on forever.

It’s not very often you meet someone who is so genuine, warm, affectionate, who has a Christlike aura and the most incredible smile and laughter. Marsha was an angel. I use to look forward to seeing her at church just to see her smile which was always present. Talking to her was easy. She always greeted me with a hug, kind words and of course her radiant smile.
Marsha knew how to make someone feel seen, heard, understood, loved and valued. She’s one of the most authentic person I’ve ever come across; once in her presence you could feel it, the love of God was in and around her. It is with this hope that I take comfort in knowing that she is just sleeping, waiting for her Lord to call her home. Toronto West will not be the same without her.
My sincere condolences to the Birkett Family. May God’s presence continue to give comfort, peace, strength, healing and hope as you go through this difficult time. May the memories of Marsha, her warmth, infectious smile, laughter, grace and Christlike aura live on in our hearts and our lives. May her soul rest in peace until that Great Day. Gone but, never forgotten.

Please accept our deepest condolences with regards to Marsha's passing. We were her colleagues for many years at West Humber Collegiate. She made an immediate and positive impact upon the school when she first started working there. A true professional, she definitely raised the bar and maintained high standards for us all to aspire to. Her contributions to our learning of black history were unparalleled, and she worked hard. As I write this, we are still in disbelief that she is gone; never again to see her wonderful smile or hear that distinctive laugh that would always put a smile on your face. Rest in peace, Marsha. My deepest condolences to Marsha's family. Marsha was so soft spoken, humble and sweet. I will forever remember her beautiful smile and laughter. Everytime we sat and chat, Marsha would be dying with laughter and up to this moment I wonder if it was what I said , or it's the fact I chipped in and out of English to Jamaican lingo that made me that hilarious. Marsha's smile and laughter was truly a breath of fresh air, she was always pleasant to be around. Pappy (Anthony) and I will miss her. Sleep on Angel Marsha, sleep on until we meet again. Marsha would ALWAYS greet me by name and interacting with her would make my Sabbath better. Her energy and joy made a difference in my life. Marsha had an inner light that she definitely let shine. We often talk about our “HEroes” Marsha was my “SHEro”. She was the one who would always give an encouraging word. A woman who knew who she was, who she was not, and who she belonged to. Marsha was that person who truly CARED. She was IT( with capitals please The I and the T) She had the Holy Spirit oozing from her pores. I knew this because every time I was in her presence I felt safe, laughed, felt loved, warm, joy and smiled with all teeth showing!
Marsha got me, listened to me, and SAW me EVERY TIME. Virtually I still felt that love while I was recovering from a major surgery she was one of the first that reached out consistently. We held each other up and pointed each other back to Christ. We had to be on the same online bench watching church together on row J (for Jesus) seat 1 & 2 lol!
Yes the sting of death hurts cause God only makes one of a kind. I am hurting. I cannot imagine how it feels for the Birketts. BUT what I know for sure Hallelujah…Jesus yanked and still has the keys to Death, Hell and the Grave. I will see my big sister Marsha again. Jesus paid it all and Victory grants us the last laugh. Get to know Jesus if you don’t know Him already so that you can have that last laugh too.
Rihanna you had the coolest Mom ever. Her greatest legacy is you. Shine your light the World will benefit from it.
Praying for the Birketts. Goodnight Marsha rest well I will look for you in the morning. Our memories will NEVER be forgotten. Thank you Jesus for this vessel Marsha Birkett.

Marsha was a beautiful spirit and her smile and laughter was infectious. I've worked with her in the Pathfinder ministry, AY and other ministries. She had a passion for young people. The last memory of her passion for youth is before the lockdown, when I use to bring an 8yr old boy(community child) to church with me. She would ask about him and tell me I was was doing a great thing, even when faced with challenges. She told me I was planting good seeds in his life and that God will reward me. I was encouraged and really appreciated her for that. My sincere condolences to the Birkette family, church family, Educators, students and friends during this time of great loss.
